Trakoscan Castle and a visit to Varazdin

We will first visit Trakoscan, one of the nicest castles in Hrvatsko Zagorje, a beautiful region of wooded hills and lush vineyards North from Zagreb. This neo-Gothic castle is sitting on a hilltop, surrounded by a romantic English style park with exotic trees and an artificial lake. We continue our drive to Varazdin, the beautiful baroque city of the North that used to be the capital of Croatia for many centuries. Lunch in Varazdin. Varazdin offers a fine ensemble of baroque buildings in the town centre, a number of which have been turned into museums. A visit to Varazdin cemetery is also possible .
