Bled

The Second Eden

Full of charm and grace, the splendor of Bled and its surroundings have been described in this way by writers, poets, rulers, presidents and foreigners who have passed through.

Bled's beginnings go back more than 1000 years and this small town rich in history has plenty to offer visitors. Surrounded by high rising mountains reflecting on the emerald lake below, a large medieval castle which takes over the backdrop of the town and the only natural island in all of Slovenia which is the highlight of lake. Set in the middle of the pristine lake the island houses a 15th century baroque church making it one of Slovenia's most popular tourist attractions. For those with a sweet tooth Bled's famous kremsnita pastry will be sure to satisfy.

“Just wanted to thank you again for the great weekend we had in Prague! Your assistance and support was fantastic the whole time, and you can be sure we will recommend your services to friends in the future. Thanks again!”

The area is ideal for water activities such as swimming, rowing, kayaking and rafting. Bled is full of opportunities for hiking as well as other sporting activities such a golf and fishing. Being a glacial lake Bled is known for its mild climate and its thermal waters will heal the senses. On any trip while in Bled a short trip to Bohinj and the largest natural lake in Slovenia should not be missed. Bohinj is less touristy and it's surroundings are unspoiled. If you have time Kranjska Gora and the Julian Alps are an easy trip also worth a look.
